再見，錦西街 Good-bye, JinXi Street
I started running Popular English Apartment at JinXi Street on 1 August 2006; on 31 Jan. 2019 Pop was moved to a new location. I worked at Jin Xi street for 12 years and 6 months.
When I was sure to move away, I was busy looking for a new location. After the location was decided, I was busying packing. I didn’t have much feeling above leaving JinXi Street. Two days before I moved, looking at the messy classroom, memories suddenly flashed before my eyes.
I remember I lost my Hana after I started working at Pop for 17 days.
I remember I brought my dog to Pop. When I worked, he used to sleep beside me.
I remember I discovered a whole new world of cat food, i.e. raw.
I remember for 3 days in a row after Poki left me, at around 5 pm my heart was aching like hell that I couldn’t stop sobbing.
Sitting in front of my desktop, I translated over 100 articles about raw cat food and posted on my blog for cat lovers.
I also translated two books, Your Cat and Cat Castle, by this same desktop.
Certainly I still remember my first student. She had studied at Pop for quite some years, and now she has became a mother of two from a young girl.
I remember one of my students at Milton came to Pop to continue her learning after she graduated from college and started work. Then she left for Australia on working holiday for two years. The next day she returned to Taiwan, she came to Pop and told me she wanted to continue her study.
I remember a girl came to Pop because her friend suggested. When she learned that I made raw cat food for my cats, she bought a grinder and started making raw food for her two cats two. She is the only successful example that started making raw food for her cats without any persuasion from me.
I remember my high school friend brought her daughter to Pop to learn English. The live in Chang Hua and her daughter just started college in Taipei. She wanted to study abroad after graduation. Then she really went to England to study, got her master degree, and returned to Taiwan in Jan. 2019. We all look forward to seeing her again.
I remember a young girl who failed to get into her ideal college came to learn English. Every time she came, it was very, very rare to find a smile on her face. Then she got into the school she wanted. Afterwards, every time she came, there was always a bright smile on her face.
I remember another young girl came to learn English. She was a college student, but her school was so lousy and she didn’t what to do because she also needed a college degree for her future. While she was telling me her dilemma, she even cried. Then she decided to drop off, studied for a while, and then successfully transferred to a better college. She graduated last year and recently found a new job.
The memories I have about Jin Xi Street are countless. It’s not possible to describe them all. Together with the memories and my four cats, we left Jin Xi Street, moved to BaoAn Street. Our trifle little stories are to be continued here.
Goodbye, Jin Xi Street.
