Question (2): Where is the place?
Answer: Located at Golf Club in Kaoshiung.
Question (3): Who is participating? Who is involved? What is the purpose?
Answer: Youth Members throughout the regions is participating. Venerables, Mentors and Volunteers are involved. Gather all Youth Group Members to meet and share.
Question (4): Why do I go for the camp?
Answer: Out of curiosity, I went. I was in a dilemma to go for the camp or to finish the work in hand. I was occupied by work and there is deadline to meet. Finally I have made up my mind to go which was also encouraged by Sis Hui Wei, she helps me to book the flight, check in the hotel, places of interest to visit and as a volunteer in Ch’an Meditation Hall, I am very grateful to have her around. Thankfully, I got no regrets. I have learnt to meet, to explore, to present and to share. To live in my fullest, at every moment during the camp, I get to know more and better of how Youth Group works, problems faced and how do they cope and solve with solutions?
Question (5): What have you learn?
Answer: Countless, It is valuable, Interviews with Mr Shi Jian Chang (big brother), Mr Zhang Guang Dou and Ms Ye Shu Shan, the bits and pieces memories in life and the times with Shifu. During the briefing, Mr Mark Wu had taught us the 5W(When, Who, What, Why & Where) + 1H(How); S.M.A.R.T applications to be used in the meeting. He drew a table to show us how the action/decision was taken, ie the flow chart of duties where each of the Youth Group Member stands, the tracking list. He also emails us the power point slides, notes and the source of reference books to refer. Indeed, it is helpful, workable and cost effective. Talk given by Venerable Guo Kuang, about how to change our mind/thoughts/habits, was quoted in a real life example, for instance cleaning up the toilet can be a very small matter yet could be difficult. Why so? Because of different ways of cleaning, the attachment and clinging of oneself, the expectations of oneself, wants the other party to follow your style of cleaning in a systematic way. Remembered in a group discussion, Venerable Chang Sui had recommended us to read Subtle Wisdom – Understanding Suffering, Cultivating Compassion through Ch’an Buddhism. There is a story about when Shifu was in his youth days, take part in a ceremony; part of the ceremony purification ritual requires a willow branch or stick, Grand Master asked him to fetch 3 identical willow branches, each with three leaves. After a long search, Shifu had found it but Grand Master responded that it is not the same and asked him to try again. Unfortunately, the willow branches had never turned out to be the same and dried out after some time. It reveals that no two things in this world are really identical and nothing in this world is permanent. Everything is impermanent.
Question (6): Which part gives me the most impression?
Answer: The video clips whereby they played Shifu beating the drum, thanked his sponsor, at that moment, uncontrollably tears flow down from my cheeks and felt the tiny of me, whenever problem comes, feels like giving up. But after seen all this and gone through the camp, in my heart, I really admire and respect Shifu, his spirit and passion in life is to help more people, despite of sickness and obstacles and which he had faced, yet he could be tough and brave. Once again, I thank him for everything.
